We visited New Orleans in May of 2005 and instead of staying in traditional lodging, opted to stay onboard a sailboat owned by friends where it was moored in a marina. That weekend offered opportunities for several plein air paintings. As it turned out, a couple months later the marina and all its floating occupants were gone - destroyed by Hurricane Katrina.
