This is my wife's family cabin, built on the banks of the Spring River outside Hardy, in the northern Arkansas Ozarks. This is the true Ozarks, where the forests are thickly wooded, the water is a pure blue. I painted this standing on a party barge (a platform attached to two canoes) anchored beneath a series of falls in a tranquil pool off the main river channel just out from the cabin.
